Sweden

It would not be an exaggeration to say that Sweden is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It has 29 national parks in addition to over 100,000 lakes, making it a dream destination for hikers and camping enthusiasts.

Swedes love a good sauna and you find them everywhere in Sweden: at swimming halls, lonely ones in the middle of the forest, public ones perched on the edge of the sea, hotel spas, and even in private homes. The rules are you don’t talk, you most likely don’t wear clothes, and you run between the sauna and either a cold shower or the snow outside.

Sweden is another place you might just be able to see the Northern Lights. The best time to see them in Swedish Lapland is between September and March – although we have seen them as early as late-August. Even though the light phenomenon occurs around the clock, it is only visible from Earth when the skies are dark and the ideal time of the day is between 9 pm and 2 am.
