St Lucia is famous for its picturesque beaches and a favourite for families, honeymooners and hikers. There are tranquil diving sites, luxurious resorts, year-round sunshine, coves, crystal clear
bathwater-warm seas and mountain regions with lots of natural beauty and vibrant culture. So you are guaranteed to be left wanting another holiday to this scenic island as soon as you've
left.
If you would prefer to be away from the beaches, there is plenty to do still. From jungle-cloaked mountains, volcanic landscapes and rainforests with bananas, mangoes and papayas. Or visit the slightly whiffy Sulphur Springs, take a tour of the volcano to walk through the crater past bubbling hot springs and plumes of steam then head to the mud pools. The grey mud is said to detoxify the body and help sunburn, eczema and even sore joints. Another popular spot to visit, and wash off the mud from Sulphur Springs is Toraille Waterfall, which is one of the biggest waterfalls on the island.
If you are a keen hiker looking for a challenge, we recommend visiting Piton peaks, which is St Lucia’s most famous landmark and a Unesco-listed Site.
At the open-air market in the island’s capital you will find everything from snacks to souvenirs. Stalls sell sweet-smelling fruit and vegetables while others stock necklaces, locally made straw bags, exotic spices and gifts.
